Today once again we are all set to pay tributes to the martyrs and victims of 26/11. A series of events are scheduled to mark the seventh anniversary of 26/11, through which the city will remember the victims, who were gunned down on that 60 hours of organized terror campaign conduced by the Lashkar-e-Taiba.
After 9/11, it attracted global condemnation for its terror impact; an attack that lasted for four days, killing 257 people and leaving 308 injured. This series of 12 consecutive shootouts and explosions in south Mumbai overwhelmed the city with panic, grief and heart-rending cries.
For seven years, after the abysmal attack, the city has been paying tribute on this day to all those bravehearts, who sacrificed their lives on those fateful days to save Moshe Holtzberg, Rahul Welde, Bharat Gujjar and thousands unnamed; the survivors of 26/11.
Every Indian is also grateful to those heroes, Hemant Karkare, Tukaram Omble, Ashok Kamte and many more, who sacrificed their lives to keep intact the glory of Mumbai… and India in large spectrum.
They can never be forgotten or get extinct from the memories of the Indians. Paying homage to them is just a dissemination of our indomitable spirit and a remembrance to the great men, to stand tall against the traitors, to keep alive the soul of India. We will keep moving and spreading our glories of these departed souls around the World.
Again this year on 26th, we will utter together “ We did not forget you our “Heroes”, you will never be forgotten”.
